The Dutch answer to 8 Femmes and Chicago! Meet Nurse Klivia and her colourful residents in this sparkling and smartly choreographed musical comedy. Klivia has a big heart and takes care of a group of good-hearted social outcasts with peculiar traits who often turn the house upside down. Their landlord, Mr Boordevol, is a nasty whiner who is itching to have them all evicted so that he can raise the rent to new clients. One day, the young girl under Klivia’s care falls in love with Gerrit, a charismatic lad with pickpocketing habits. Will this romance finally give the greedy landlord the opportunity he seeks, or will love prevail? Based on the original story by famous Dutch writer Annie M.G. Schmidt, the film competed for the Golden Bear at the Berlinale and other festivals and won the Dutch Golden and Platinum Film awards.
