The Marseilles’ Trilogy

France, 1930s. César runs a bar established in the Old Port of Marseilles. His son Marius dreams of sailing and refuses to acknowledge his love for Fanny who gives herself to him hoping he will stay in place. But the ungrateful man embarks on a three year journey out at sea. Upon finding out she is pregnant, Fanny agrees to marry the old Panisse. Stopping-off in Marseilles Marius is not welcome and immediately sets sail for the South Seas. When Panisse dies Fanny reveals to her twenty year old son the truth about his birth. Shattered by the news, Césariot decides to look for his biological father. But a series of misunderstandings prompt him to reject that unworthy father. Feeling remorse, César brings back happiness to the ‘Bar de la Marine’.
